To welcome this grand festival, invitations were distributed to office staff and Buddhist organizations, encouraging participation. Groups of 25 members each were formed, and preliminary recitations and worship ceremonies were held about 20 days in advance, in the Hall of Victory, leading up to the waxing moon day of Tabaung.
\nOn the 6th waxing day of Tabaung, at 08:00 AM, twenty- eight ancient Buddha images were transported from the Ancient Buddha Statue Hall to the royal treasury building where the main worship ceremony, the RatanaGaya Hall, was held.
\nAt 09:30 AM, the central worship pavilion at the royal treasury was led by senior monks and included members of the trustees, Buddhist organizations, and participants. At the four main entrances, 27 monks, 27 nuns, 45 laymen, and 54 laywomen recited the Patthana Pali scriptures simultaneously to inaugurate the continuous chanting ceremony. This ceremony lasted the entire Tabaung month, with 120 monks chanting 10 times for a total of 216 hours of uninterrupted recitation. On the 14th waxing day of Tabaung, at 04:00 PM, 117 monks and 27 nuns were offered meals and alms on the main platform. On the full moon day of Tabaung, at dawn, trustees and Buddhist organization members, along with public servants and other participants, gathered at the pagoda to offer meals, flowers, cool water, fruits, oil lamps, and incense as morning offerings. At 09:00 AM, they listened to the merits of the 10-day ceremonies and shared the merits by sprinkling water. At the conclusion of the festival, collective merits were shared with monks and attendees, followed by offering day meals to monks, thus celebrating the Tabaung Buddha Worship Festival as a grand homage to the Buddha, Dhamma, and Sangha.
\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.26.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.26.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Detail\u00a0Tabaung Buddha Worship FestivalTabaungAbout (20) days before (6) the new moon of ThadingyutThe Tabaung Buddha Worship Festival, celebrated during the Tabaung month, is one of the longest-standing and longest-running festivals.
