It was built and donated by Daw Hla May around the 1260 Myanmar Era (1898). The Pu\u00f1\u00f1akusalabahukara Association (CMA) renovated it in the 1319 Myanmar Era (1957). The 1999 renovation project included installing traditional Myanmar decorations, tiling, removing verandas, and repairing the facades and the Gandaku\u1e6di halls where the twenty-eight Buddha-images stays. The chamber became widely known as the Jade Chamber after a jade Buddha image was enshrined and dedicated during a ceremony starting on April 3, 1999.[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column_inner][\/et_pb_row_inner][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.26.0″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”0px||||false|false” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.26.0″ _module_preset=”default” width=”100%” custom_padding=”0px||||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.26.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.26.0″ _module_preset=”default” text_orientation=”justified” global_colors_info=”{}”]. Following damage from Cyclone Nargis in 2008, traditional Myanmar decorations were restored. In 2015, the roof tiles were replaced, and worn panels and zinc decorations were repaired.
