sticky_enabled=”0″]The Ancient Buddha Images Pavilion (Daw Mya Pavilion) is located near the Wednesday planetary post on the southern side of the Shwedagon Pagoda platform. The pavilion was constructed and donated by Daw Mya, the wife of Mr. B.A Masani, a prominent lawyer of the Yangon City Parliament, in 1964 (Myanmar Era 1326). In 1997, due to the enshrinement of ancient Buddha images donated from Mandalay, it was named the “Ancient Pavilion.” In the 1320 Myanmar Era, Daw Saw Mya\u2019s Pavilion and the Old Museum Pavilion were merged, and in the 1995 comprehensive renovation project, the wall between the two pavilions was removed, creating a unified roof. In 2006, the interior of the pavilion was renovated, and in 2011, aluminum window panels were installed on the upper walls. The roof was reinforced in 2016, and in 2017, stainless steel doors were installed at the entrance and exit.
