The event begins at the Ancient pavilion assembly area, where groups such as the conch shell group, triangular brass gong group, gong group, flower bowl group, Sasana flag holders, and signboard group form a procession that circles the pagoda clockwise. They gather again at the auspicious ground in the north of the pagoda, where nine weaving looms are set up. Here, the Board of Trustees and distinguished officials cut the yellow ribbon to mark the start of the competition. The contest concludes at 8 p.m., followed by the awarding of prizes to the winning teams. On the full moon day of Tazaungmone, before dawn, the Board of Trustees and contestants begin from the auspicious ground to offer robes to the nine images. On the same day, the Pagoda Board of Trustees, religious associations, and staff participate in offerings of alms, flowers, water, fruits, candlelight, and incense.
